PRODUCT DETAILS

Route 66 was established on November 11, 1926, although it wasn't officially marked until the following year. Originally, it ran from Chicago, Illinois, and traversed Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California, ultimately ending in Los Angeles, with a total distance of 2448 miles (3940 km).

Description

Route 66 underwent numerous improvements and changes to its route, many of which significantly impacted the road's length. One such change was moving the route's western terminus from Los Angeles to Santa Monica.

Route 66 was the primary route for emigrants heading west, particularly during the dust storms of the 30s, and it sustained the economies of the areas it traversed. The people who thrived during the road's growing popularity were later the very same individuals who struggled to keep it alive when the new Interstate Highway System in the United States began to be built.

All jackets, overshirts, and BLB® hoodies feature Kevlar® by Dupont® protection in impact areas on the arms and back, as well as CE1 level protectors on the shoulders and elbows. They are already prepared to accommodate a back protector (sold separately).
